Update your Personal GroupWise Address Books
You are composing a GroupWise e-mail message and start to type in your contact's name. This contact name used to auto-fill but now it doesn't, even though you know this entry exists in one of your personal GroupWise Address books.
The solution to this problem is two-fold:
1. Synchronize your personal GroupWise Address books.
This will update your address book entries, including any groups listed within each address book.
- Open the GroupWise Client
- Click Tools
- Select Address Book
- Right click one personal address book and choose Synchronize
- Select Current Book - if Current Book and Selected Items are grayed out, they have been synchronized already
- Repeat steps 3 - 5 for all personal address books
2. Verify the Name Format order that is currently being used by your personal GroupWise Address Books.
If your current address books display first name then last name, you may want to change this to display last name then first name. It is more efficient to put the last name first because searches will be faster in most cases. Also, if you don't know the new or changed first/ preferred name, the last name will produce a list of all people with this last name.
- Open the GroupWise Client
- Click Tools
- Select Address Book
- Click View
- Select Name Format
- Click the Radio Button for: Show last name then first name
- Select all Address Books displayed in lower window, if all are not already highlighted - you can do this by clicking the first address book while holding down the shift key and then clicking the last address book in the list
- Click the Apply to selected books button
- Click OK
